The 50 solids control system for the oilfield has been installed on-site.
Recently, TR Solids Control's ZJ50 drilling rig solids control system, used in oilfields, was successfully shipped to the customer's destination.
The ZJ50 solids control system is the core equipment for drilling fluid purification. It purifies drilling fluid through multi-stage separation equipment, removing harmful solid phases such as cuttings and sand particles, while simultaneously recovering weighting agents and chemical treatment agents, achieving the recycling of drilling fluid.
I. 50 Solids Control Equipment
Shale Shaker
As the first-level processing equipment, Tianrui Solid Control is equipped with 2 high-frequency linear vibrating screens. These screens separate coarse particles with a size greater than 74 micrometers from the drill cuttings through multiple layers of screens. The processing capacity of this equipment directly affects the load of the subsequent equipment, and the mesh size of the screens can be adjusted according to the characteristics of the drilling fluid.
Vacuum Degasser
The vacuum degasser is used to remove free gas from the drilling fluid, preventing gas invasion that could lead to well control risks. This time, Tianrui's customer chose the Vacu-FLO 1200. It creates negative pressure inside the tank using a vacuum pump, causing the gas bubbles to burst and be expelled. This equipment is usually installed after the vibrating screen and directly processes the mud that has undergone preliminary screening.
Mud Cleaner
For medium and fine particles in drilling fluids, Tianrui Solids Controls employs integrated mud cleaners that combine desanders/desilters with fine-mesh vibrating screens to further recover barite. For example, the TR50 system is equipped with a Hyperpool desander/desilter unit, with a processing capacity of up to 240 m³/h.
Decanter Centrifuge
As a precision processing equipment, the medium-speed or high-speed centrifuges can be selected based on efficiency. The centrifuges are used for recovering barite and processing non-weighted mud.
Mud Tank
As the system carrier, the Tianrui 50 solid control system is composed of 4 modular tanks, with a total effective volume of 246 cubic meters. The tanks are divided into sedimentation tanks, degassing tanks, sand and mud removal tanks, and centrifuge tanks, etc. They are connected through pipelines and diversion channels to form a five-level purification process (screening → degassing → sand and mud removal → sludge removal → centrifugation).
Sand Pump & Centrifuge Pump
Tianrui's sand removal pump, equipped with a 55kW explosion-proof motor, has a flow rate of up to 240m³/h and a head of 30 meters; the centrifuge supply pump adjusts its parameters according to the centrifuge model.
Agitator & Mixing System
Each compartment is equipped with a 15kW horizontal agitator to prevent solid precipitation; the mixing tank is equipped with a shear pump and a jet funnel for rapid addition of bentonite, chemicals or barite.

II. Equipment Installation and Commissioning
Mud Tank Installation
Hoist the mud tank according to design requirements, ensuring the tank is level and tightly connected to prevent drilling fluid leakage.
Install accessories such as level gauges and agitators, ensuring accurate level monitoring and stable agitator operation.
Shale Shakerr Installation
Hoist the vibrating screen above the mud tank and adjust the screen angle to ensure even distribution of drilling fluid.
Connect the feed pipes of the vibrating screen and the mud tank, ensuring a pipe diameter match to reduce fluid resistance.
Desander and Desilter Installation
Hoist desander and desilter units to the designated positions, connect the inlet and outlet pipes, and ensure the hydrocyclone direction is correct.
Adjust the inlet pressure to ensure effective separation.
Centrifuge installation
Hoist the centrifuge next to the mud tank and secure it to the dedicated base, ensuring the coaxiality error between the drum and the screw conveyor is less than 0.1mm.
Connect the feed pipe and discharge pipe between the centrifuge and the mud tank, and install the protective cover and safety valve.
Manifold and electrical control system installation
Lay manifolds to connect the inlet, outlet, and slag discharge lines between various devices, ensuring good sealing.
Install the electrical control cabinet, connect the equipment motors, sensors, and actuators, and perform electrical wiring and commissioning.

Stand-alone debugging
Start the vibrating screen, sand separator, desliming device, centrifuge, and other equipment in sequence, and check their operating status (such as vibration frequency, rotation speed, and noise).
Verify the accuracy of the readings from sensors such as level gauges and flow meters, and adjust the control parameters to the design range.
System linkage debugging
The drilling fluid circulation process is simulated, with the returning drilling fluid from the wellhead passing sequentially through equipment such as a shale shaker, desander, desilter, and centrifuge.
The solid content, viscosity, density, and other parameters of the drilling fluid at the outlet of each piece of equipment are monitored to ensure they meet drilling process requirements.
The Tianrui ZJ50 solids control system employs a multi-stage purification process: wellhead return mud → coarse particle separation via vibrating screen → temporary storage in a settling bin, followed by vacuum degassing → medium particle separation via desander → fine particle treatment via desilter, recovery of barite via medium-speed centrifuge → removal of colloidal particles via high-speed centrifuge → return of purified mud to the circulation tank, etc. This achieves drilling fluid recycling and environmental compliance, while reducing costs and improving drilling safety and high-quality efficiency.
